I think it goes without saying that we are like most people in this country and around the world, trying to figure out what to do next. We felt like we had some great momentum from our MakerSpace Block Party and into the holiday season and our last event with fellow Garland Area non-profits looking for volunteers and resources to march on within the new year.

We are not giving up on making a MakerSpace a reality in our area, but it may be awhile before more social gatherings and our own “idea meetings” come back where we can figure out how to make this a real building and one that people can come into safely and make and learn things at their own pace.

If you are like me, and think that this can be a reality, please consider finding ways to give us your support. That may be spreading the word, helping raise funds towards the MakerSpace creation or your time when we do have events that would need and encourage extra hands and feet on the ground.

Until then, we look forward to sharing out next event once everyone feels ready. Take care of yourself and others until then!

Oh! If you found yourself with the extra time during this event where you made something or learned something MakerSpace worthy, we would love to see it in the comments below!
